Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Sales Nerd ("we", "us", "The Sales Nerd") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website, our consulting services, and the software tools we operate, including integrations that connect to accounting and CRM systems such as Intuit QuickBooks Online.

Who we are

The Sales Nerd is a revenue-operations consultancy. We help B2B software companies rebuild their go-to-market systems, and we build internal tools that automate parts of that work. For any privacy question, contact us at mike@thesalesnerd.com.

Information we collect

• Contact information you give us directly: name, email, company, and anything you include when you reach out or engage us.
• Client business data we process to deliver services, including CRM records, sales and pipeline data, and, where you connect an accounting system, financial records such as invoices, customers, payments, and transaction details.
• Connected-account data from systems you authorize us to access on your behalf (for example, QuickBooks Online), limited to what the integration you approve requires.
• Usage and device data from our website and tools: basic log information such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed.

How we use information

• To provide and operate our consulting services and software tools.
• To read, organize, and reconcile the records you ask us to work with, for example matching invoices, categorizing transactions, or syncing data between systems.
• To communicate with you about your engagement, support requests, and service updates.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use client financial or CRM data for advertising.

Connected services (QuickBooks Online and others)

When you connect a third-party account such as Intuit QuickBooks Online, you authorize us to access that account through the provider's official API using credentials (access tokens) that you can revoke at any time. We use that access only to perform the functions you approve. We store the minimum credentials needed to maintain the connection, keep them encrypted at rest, and never share them. You can disconnect at any time from within your QuickBooks account (Apps > Connected apps) or by asking us to revoke access.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to run our services:

• With service providers and infrastructure vendors that operate our tools, under confidentiality obligations and only for that purpose.
• With the connected platforms you authorize (for example, writing an approved invoice into your QuickBooks).
• When required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Data retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide services and to meet legal, accounting, and audit requirements, then delete or anonymize it. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and encryption of stored credentials, to protect the data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data protected and to limit access to those who need it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can revoke any connected-account access at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these, email mike@thesalesnerd.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
